AL Jazz, Stafford Discuss Boosting Economic Relations between Khartoum, Washington

Minister of petroleum Awad Ahmed AL Jazz and American charge d’ affairs to Khartoum Joseph Stafford discussed Wednesday bilateral relations between Khartoum and Washington, reported local media Thursday.
AL Jaz told the American diplomat that Sudan is looking forward for boosting economic relations between Sudan and United States. The minister has briefed Stafford on possible potential investment chances the Sudan particularly in oil. The two parties according to media reports have discussed issues related to Sudan and southern Sudan. On this point AL Jaz told the US charge d’ affairs that relation between Khartoum and Juba is progressing positively particularly after the recent oil deal reached between the two countries. The minister also gave assurances that security and humanitarian situations in Blue Nile and south Kordofan are stable. For his part the American charge d’ affairs praises calmness on border areas saying his country is concerned about humanitarian situations and dialogue runs between Sudan and southern Sudan.
