The Chinese ambassador who has just left was the son of two Moslem parents. He was succeeded by the current ambassador. Islam entered China around mid seventeenth century. The number of the Chinese Moslems is about 120 million. From the 56 Chinese nationalities, there are ten who are Moslems. Uzbek, Ghirghize, and Tatar are some of those nationalities. Islam has great influence in the Chinese social and cultural life. The Chinese Moslems are participating positively in the development of their country. there are a lot of mosques and Islamic centers in China.
