Armed Forces Announces Aggression of South Sudan State Army on Al-Abiyyad Lake

The Armed Forces announced that Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) has staged an aggression from inside South Sudan State on Al-Abiyad Lake area which is six-kilometers far from the border between Sudan and South Sudan State.
A statement issued by the Armed Forces Sunday, indicated that the SPLM began in the past two days staging attacks on Al-Dar and Dabaka, pointing out the SPLM launched on Sunday a direct aggression on Al-Abiyad Lake area and that fighting is still continuing.
The Armed Forces said that this aggression was flagrant and direct attack from the government of South Sudan on the Sudanese territories as Al-Abiyad Lake area is six-kilometers far from the border between the two countries.
The Armed Forces affirmed that it will continue to defend the Sudanese people and their gains and to repulse the aggressions of enemies.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces’ Command stated that Sudan is closely monitoring closely the continuous plotting of South Sudan State against the Sudan, a matter which was reflected in trend of South Sudan State to maintain its link with the Ninth and 10th SPLM Divisions in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile State, despite the separation of South Sudan State, the keenness of South Sudan State to provide the two SPLM divisions with food materials, salaries and shelter, ammunition and men, sponsorship of the government of South Sudan State to plans of the rebels in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile States for fighting the Armed Forces, the opening of an advanced command center at Manga area in Wohda State under auspices and command of the SPLM and the Governor Taban Deng.
The Armed Forces’ statement also stated that the hostilities of South Sudan State were also reflected in the hosting of Darfur rebel movements at Manga and Faryang areas in Wohda State despite the warning expressed by Sudan government.
