Austerity Measures Create Impact on neighboring countries

An official report released by ministry of finance revealed that austerity economic measures imposed by government recently to iron economic crisis in country creates impacts on economies of some neighboring countries particularity those they imported essential commodities from Sudan, reported local media Thursday quoting the ministry by saying.

Kier tells South Sudan governors to prepare for austerity measures

President Salva Kier Mayardit has briefed governors of South Sudan’s ten states on the austerity measures that will come into effect in the next few weeks and urged them to tighten their belts.
South Sudan has been hit by economic fragility as the government decided earlier this year to shut down its only export, the oil, which provided for 98% of the country’s revenues amid growing tensions with Sudan.

Sudanese and South Sudanese delegations ended another round of talks without agreeing on a map to operationalize a buffer zone they have to establish on the common border. The mediation however announced the resumption of talks next week.
