UNITED NATIONS/JUBA/KHARTOUM: The United States said Thursday it had drafted a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at making legally binding an African Union demand that Sudan and South Sudan stop border clashes, resume talks and resolve their many disputes.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told reporters the Security Council would begin discussing the draft resolution and that it would likely need at least a few days of talks among members before going to a vote.

The National Organization for Women (NOW) in The United States of America published a study of “Violence against Women in the United States: Statistics”, (See: www.now.org/issues/violence) saying in its introduction:

Lu Nuer Attack Ayuwat Area in Unity State

Lu Nuer group attacked SPLA camp in unity state in southern Sudan and as consequence tens killed and injured. Lu Nuer loyalist told (smc) that the attack targeted SPLA camp at Ayuwat area to destroy and cut military logistical support of SPLA. He said also Lu Nuer group confiscated three land cruisers.
