Media Report; Darfurian rebel Movements Conspire in the South

Akhir Lahza daily newspaper reported on Wednesday 24 November, 2010, edition that it has obtained a serious report highlighting the actual volume of conspiracies by Darfur rebel troops which are hosted by the government of southern Sudan. The conspiracies have been planned and prepared for military confrontation against the government in the north. The attacking plan according to the report targets Darfur and Kordofan. Justice and Equality Movement JEM troops led By Khalil Ibrahim according to the plan are to remain in safety haven in the south until after secession takes place. The plan states that the troops should then operate their military activities from within the south after receiving full military training. The newspaper reported that JEM currently operates a small camp at Fug Mashar area managed by rebels, Humad Adam AL Dana and Hashim Ahmed Abdel Halim under auspices of SPLA commander for Winik area Gen Santino. The report noted that Santino often donates financial assistance to rebels in charge of the camp and that the recent disbursement was made payable to JEM rebels in last Ramadan (fasting month). On the third week of last August Gen Santino organized a meeting for Al Dana and another JEM rebel named Adam Abu Nub with lieutenant general Fiyang Deng. “For his part SPLM senior member named Albino Owiage arranged last April for a meeting between some SPLM and JEM commanders in Kampala capital of Uganda.” The Report says. Owiage also met Khalil Ibrahim and promised him on behalf of GOSS to supply JEM with logistical support including provision of vehicles and arms. Owiage has coordinated the operation with SPLA intelligence officer Bingaman Paul. Meanwhile according to the report JEM commanders namely Ahmed Adam Bakhit the secretary general, Ahmed Nugud Lisan and Mansur Arbab arrived in Kampala early last August and met with some Ugandan officials who facilitated a secret meeting between them and some SPLM/A senior officials. As a consequence Lisan arrived in Juba on the first week of current November, then three JEM commanders namely Arko Silliman Dahia, Bukhari Ahmed Abd Allah and Dr Abdel Rahman AL Arab arrived there subsequently. The first and the second stationed in Juba while the third commander joined Ahmed Adam in Yei. On Friday 12th of November 2010 more than 40 JEM injured elements were evacuated into the south. Meanwhile Gen  Santino agreed to receive the evacuated elements and that the operation was completed under the supervision of brigadier Khalid Abu Higail and colonels Due Fan and John Paul who are in charge of intelligence at Winik area. Likewise SLM’s Abdel Wahid Mohammed Nur also operates a liaison office in Juba chairs by Saif AL Dein Eissa. The head of the office (Eissa) holds active businesses such as meetings with SPLM/A officials. On 28th of last September Eissa met with President of GOSS Salva Kir. Following the meeting Eissa said according to the report that Kir Promised to help his movement. Besides Eissa the office employs SLM‘s active cadres namely Salih Ishak, Mohamed Abakar AL Sanusi and Ishak Abakar Laema. The report stated that SLM’s Nur operates a camp for training and assembling of troops at Wanjok area in Bahr AL Ghazal chairs by the movement rebel Abdel Razik Yagoub and his deputy Eissa Mandoub. There are more SLM’s offices in South. The SLM’s office in Wau is headed by Mohamed Babikir assisted by member staff named Mohamed AL Fatih. The Awil office is run by Muzamil Al Furawi and Ahmed Yahiya Gedo. The SLM also has offices in Bor and Faloj. The NUR’s movement has influential cadres  working in southern Sudan towns such as IDPS camps chiefs’ spokesman Ahmed Atim who stations in Juba and used to propagate fabricated stories about Darfur through broadcasting particularly in Radio Dabanga station. Another SLM activist named Salih Ishak AL Tagir also stays in Juba that he arranged for SLM prominent member Mohamed mohamadain who takes asylum in Canada and field commander Mohamed Abdel Rahman to visiting Juba. SLM of Mani Arko Manawi who’s himself staying in Juba is planning for transporting all his aides and supporters to join him there. He also plans to demobilize his troops to the south. Manawi also is thinking to benefit from post referendum era.  In addition to Manawi, Abu AL Gasim Imam AL Haj, chairman of SLM main stream, SLM’ Manawi commander in chief, Juma Ahmed Hagar and 18 SLM faction commanders are also in Juba. These elements are currently receiving training under SPLA specialists.
