A Sudanese wins an International Prize in English Poetry.

The Sudanese poet and artist Omar Rajab who has been living in the Netherlands for more than ten years is now back home. Rajab has won the prize of the Society of International Poetry in English. The competition is annually organized in USA. Ten competitors have participated this year in the event which was sponsored by the Congress Library. Rajab has won the prize in 2003 for his poem (Allah is the Greatest). The Congress Library has put this poem among the winning poems and published it in a book dedicated for such winning works. Rajab has told (Al-Sudani) that this prize has motivated him to achieve a lot of successes in the fields of arts. In addition to his skills of writing poetry in three languages, Arabic, English and Dutch, he is a singer. He produced three albums. His songs are a mixture of Sudanese music and European music. He hopes to market and circulate the Sudanese music.
