SSRC Sets Urgent Awareness Plan on Registration Importance

Head of the referendum commission for southern Sudan, Prof. Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, affirmed that the commission will develop an urgent awareness plan on importance of registration for the referendum, through media and loudspeakers.
He attributed the weak registration in the first day to poor media and the Greater Bairam holidays.

The two main traditional Sudanese Parties, the Umma Party of the Ansar sect, and the Unionist Democratic Party, of the Khatmiyya sect, both called the Nation and followers to support unity and avoid destructive differences.

Alsamawaal Khalafalla, the Federal Minister of Culture, disclosed that the Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Arab world had discussed the proposed Arab participation in the London Olympics in 2012.

Kenana Sugar Company (KSC) and White Nile State agreed on Saturday to cultivate extra 150, 000 Feddans to produce an estimated 500,000 tons of sugar in 2013
